Executive Summary of the SAP Fieldglass Carve-out
In the course of a carve-out, a newly established company was faced with the challenge of taking over the external workforce from an existing SAP Fieldglass system at short notice. The company did not have its own processes, governance structures or experience in external workforce management.
As a managed service provider, EMS assumed full operational responsibility. The establishment of independent governance, the transfer to a separate SAP Fieldglass operating model and operational control from day one ensured stable continued operation.
The result was uninterrupted business continuity, high compliance security and a scalable MSP model as the basis for the further development of the new organization.
Initial Situation in the SAP Fieldglass Group Environment Before the Carve-out
A division of an international group was transferred to an independent company as part of a carve-out. Until the reporting date, the new unit used the parent company’s SAP Fieldglass system to manage external personnel deployment.
The carve-out removed access to central governance structures, operational processes, supplier management and the underlying expertise. There were no in-house roles, market knowledge or experience in managing external workers.
The external workforce of several thousand people was business-critical and had to continue without interruption.
